Frank H. Reuling, MD. -Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon
Surgical Ophthalmologist, Dr. Frank Reuling, was born in Waterloo, Iowa.
In 1963, he received his Medical degree from the College of Medicine,
University of Iowa. He then went on to complete a Medicine-Surgery Internship
at San Francisco General Hospital. For his residency training, Dr. Reuling
relocated to Iowa to specialize in ophthalmology at the University Hospital
in Iowa City.
As a new surgeon, Dr. Reuling worked for world-renowned National Institutes
of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1970, relocated to Berryville and
Dr. Reuling opened his private practice in Winchester, Virginia. As the
only son of Frank Harold Reuling, Sr., MD, who was also a practicing surgical
Ophthalmologist for more than 40 years, Dr. Reuling is very honored and
proud to preserve such a legacy. Dr. Reuling is an accomplished cataract
surgeon who has continued to implement current optical advances into his
daily practice. As the population in the area has grown over the years,
he has opened two satellite locations, one at the Winchester Medical Center
and another at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital. More recently, Dr. Reuling
collaborated with other local Ophthalmologists to open the Eye Surgery
Center of Winchester, on Amherst Street.
Dr. Reuling maintains memberships in, American Academy of Ophthalmology,
American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Virginia Society
of Ophthalmology, Medical Society of Virginia and American Medical Association.
Additionally, he has never held back in procuring all the most current
state-of-the-art technology for his patients.
Thomas P. Keenan, MD - Ophthalmologist, Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Surgeon
Medical / Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Dr. Thomas Keenan graduated in 1963
from Manhattan College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.
He received his medical degree from Georgetown University. From there
he completed an OB/GYN Internship/Residency at the University of Iowa.
He then spent 3 years as a US Naval Flight Surgeon in Pensacola, Florida
and at Andrews Air Force Base. He then returned to the University of Iowa
where he went on to complete an Ophthalmology Residency with a specialization
in Pediatric Ophthalmology. In 1975, he relocated to Winchester where
he joined Dr. Reuling in his private practice in Winchester and has been
in full-time practice here for the last 35+ years.
Despite being born in Brooklyn, New York, he has made the Winchester, Virginia
area his home and has developed quite a side-hobby of horses. He married
in 1966 and he and his wife have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Dr. Keenan
is ever aware of the need to be current in his field, because of such
he is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and maintains
a membership with the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Jacqueline A. Garringer, MD. Ophthalmologist, Pediatric Ophthalmologist
Ophthalmologist, Dr. Jacqueline Garringer received her Medical Degree from
the Medical College of Ohio in 1978. She then completed her ophthalmology
residency as chief resident in 1982 at the same institution. Shortly thereafter,
Dr. Garringer opened a practice in Atlanta, GA where she provided a range
of ophthalmology services to include the treatment of cataract and performed
LASIK surgery. Dr. Garringer has been active in the ophthalmology field
having served as a Chief of Staff at several hospitals in which she was
affiliated. She is currently serving as a board member for Mag Mutual.
In 2004, Dr. Garringer relocated to the Virginia area with her husband
and 3 daughter. In 2007, she joined Winchester Eye Specialists. Specializing
in the care and treatment of a wide variety of ophthalmic conditions,
she routinely accommodates patients at both our Cameron Street and WMC
- Medical Office Building locations.
Dr. Garringer is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and
is a member with both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American
Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons.
