Winchester Neonatologist Joins Winchester Medical Center Board of Trustees
Teresa F. Clawson, MD, neonatologist, has been named to the Winchester Medical Center Board of Trustees. Her appointment was approved by the Winchester Medical Center and Valley Health System Boards of Trustees.
Dr. Clawson came to Winchester Medical Center’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in 1996 following a three-year neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship through Indiana University of Medicine, where she also attended medical school and graduated with honors. In 1997, Dr. Clawson became medical director of both newborn nurseries at the medical center. She is a frequent presenter at physician and clinical staff education programs at WMC and other hospitals in the region. Dr. Clawson has held leadership positions on the WMC medical staff and hospital committees and serves on the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative steering committee and the Virginia State Health Commissioner’s Infant Mortality Task Force.

She and her husband, Tom, live in Frederick County and have three children.
Dr. Clawson joins a Board of Trustees composed of: Chairman Gilpin, Becky Armstrong, Erich Bruhn, MD; Steven E. Cluss, Sherif Kaiser, MD; Diane S. Kearns, David Kliewer, MD; Jeffrey Lessar, MD; Mark H. Merrill, Clifton L. “Kip” Rutherford, Mark Schroeder, MD; Harry S. Smith, and John A. Willingham. The trustees volunteer considerable time in service to the not-for-profit organization.
