Each year volunteers and members of hospital auxiliaries donate their time and energy to Valley Health, supporting the staff and assisting patients and their families. These volunteers operate the Auxiliary gifts shops, escort patients, deliver flowers and mail, drive courtesy vans, and staff the information desks.
Volunteers are homemakers and retirees as well as men and women still in the work force who want to give something back to the community. They volunteer because they want to be of service, and because it is a fulfilling and rewarding experience for them personally. Assignments are matched to the volunteers’ areas of interest and expertise, while meeting the needs of the hospital. Each volunteer participates in an orientation and training program.
