Neurodiagnostic and Sleep Center
Helping you achieve consistent, restorative sleep
For all that we put ourselves through each day, from grinding work to mindless fun, we sometimes don't appreciate that our minds and bodies need a complete recharging at night to perform at the level we expect.
A good night's sleep, however, can be elusive even when we know we need it and have the time to devote to it. For one reason or another we cannot seem to get the kind of deep, restorative rest that Shakespeare had in mind when he spoke of “Sleep that knits up the raveled sleeve of care.”
Seven out of every ten Americans get out of bed in the morning unraveled and unrestored. Sometimes their sleep is disrupted because of life's stresses, illness, lifestyle excesses, or personal physical makeup. Untreated, these issues over time can develop into a chronic and serious disorder. Too often we tend to think that's just the way it is. But it doesn't have to be.
Night and day at Valley Health, we diagnose and treat common sleep disorders such as
sleep apnea,
restless leg syndrome, and
narcolepsy. In our state-of-the-art Neurodiagnostic and Sleep Center we have helped hundreds of people overcome a sleep disorder and achieve the consistent, restorative rest they need for good health.
When you come to our sleep center lab, we will settle you into a specially equipped diagnostic suite from which our board-certified sleep technologists monitor you as you sleep. We provide quite comfortable queen-size beds and a private bathroom. You can wear your favorite sleep clothes, have your favorite book or magazine by your side and even watch television to help you fall asleep--almost as if you were in your own bedroom.
Once we have diagnosed the specific issue that's keeping you from a good night's sleep, we provide a broad range of services and treatments to get you back on the path to restorative sleep.
Remember, an untreated sleep disorder can seriously impact your health or even shorten your life. The price you pay for a bad night's sleep varies from poor perception and judgment, reduced efficiency or productivity, an irritable mood, even the inability to understand or retain information. A lack of sleep also makes you more susceptible to accidents. Who hasn't read of a driver who has fallen asleep at the wheel and triggered a tragic fatality?
