Services Available
Crisis Care/Intake Services
Crisis Care/Intake Service provides assistance to individuals seeking mental health information and services. Crisis Care is staffed by experienced psychiatric professionals able to quickly respond to crisis phone calls, or routine request for information. Team members provide assistance with evaluations and referrals from area professionals and the public, as well as facilitating admissions to Behavioral Health programs or other appropriate providers. Free assessments and additional information on Behavioral Health Services are available by calling 540-536-8152 or toll free 1-800-786-2673.
Adult Inpatient Services
The adult inpatient program provides evaluation, treatment and discharge coordination in a case managed setting for individuals 18 years and older. Services are provided for those with primary, acute and/or chronic psychiatric illnesses and/or substance abuse. Each patient’s treatment is individualized and coordinated by a multidisciplinary treatment team composed of the psychiatrist, psychiatric social worker, therapist, nurse case manager, activity therapist, and registered nurses, who provide direct care for patients. Treatment options include individual, family, and group modalities, pharmacotherapy, electrotherapy, behavior modification, and activity, music, and message therapies, which are coordinated within a therapeutic milieu. Education for disease management and medication use, as well as discharge planning and coordination, are important aspects of treatment planning. Families, supportive living personnel and significant others often participate in formal and informal discharge planning sessions, individualized medication education, and arrangements for the continuation of treatment following discharge.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient treatment services are provided in an off-campus location near Winchester Medical Center through Valley Behavioral Health Associates, a group of physicians, therapists and nurse practitioners affiliated with Valley Health Behavioral Health Services.
